‘Honey’ is the latest single from outsider-pop project Dilettante. It’s a tongue-in-cheek piece of art-pop that lyrically explores frustration and self-acceptance, as well as the artist feeling sorry for those wanting her to change. Musically, it started life as a stripped-back guitar-led tune, before slowly morphing into the textured, building piece of experimentation she has become known for, driven by a subtly sassy vocal delivery. On the video that accompanies the track, she explains: “The video was the result of me attaching a borrowed Insta360 camera to my bike handlebars every day for a few weeks and capturing every journey I made on it.” Dilettante’s Life Of The Party album is out on October 11th, 2024. -Dan Peeke
